Minneapolis (February 3, 2009) – Women can’t escape aging, but now they can laugh their way through it with What Women Don’t Know about Getting Older…, a funny over-the-hill gift book for women by humorous poets Linda Knaus and Kathy Kenney-Marshall. What Women Don’t Know about Getting Older… is an entertaining quiz with 100 questions (complete with snarky answers) about changes every woman experiences… eventually. Covering everything from hot flashes to chin hair and mood swings, this book is the perfect gift for any woman who needs a good laugh!
Here are just a few ideas to share the laughter to your audience:
- If you find yourself giggling or sharing the questions and answers with your colleagues, then let your audience know how much fun they would have quizzing their 50+-year-old friends.
- Include your favorite questions from the book and encourage your audience to submit their best, most creative tips for growing older via your website (a possible give-away opportunity).
- Schedule an interview with the authors to discuss the humorous changes that women go through as they get older.
Linda Knaus has just finished writing another adult humor book: What Boomers Don’t Know About Sex (June 2009; Meadowbrook Press), designed to sell together with this book. Versatile Knaus is also a children’s poet. She has co-authored Santa Got Stuck in the Chimney with Kenn Nesbitt and written poems that appear in most of Meadowbrook Press’s “Giggle Poetry” anthologies. Knaus resides in Hermantown, MN.
This is Kathy Kenney-Marshall’s first adult humor title. She writes a humor column for a local newspaper in addition to being a full-time teacher and mother in Randolph, MA. Marshall also writes children’s poetry; her work has appeared in many of Meadowbrook Press’s “Giggle Poetry” anthologies. She finds time for all of this by not sleeping much (because she’s perimenopausal).
