Trish Kuffner was the second of four daughters born to a hard-working dad and a stay-at-home mom in Vancouver, BC. in the 1960s.
She married and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, working as a computer programmer for a large, national corporation, until the birth of her first daughter. She continued her career on a part-time basis, but left the work force permanently when her second daughter was born. Shortly thereafter the growing family moved back to the Greater Vancouver area where they welcomed three more children and where they still reside.
Trish was inspired to write The Preschooler’s Busy Book while learning to juggle the demands of three children age three and under. After a 16-hour non-stop day with her children, Trish would put in three or four more hours, often working until 3 a.m., to see her project through to completion. The Preschooler’s Busy Book, was published in 1998.
Since the publication of her first book, Trish has written four more titles in the popular Busy Book series, including The Toddler’s Busy Book, The Children’s Busy Book, The Arts and Crafts Busy Book, and The Fitness Fun Busy Book, as well as Picture Book Activities for Preschoolers. In addition to writing a successful series of books, Trish home-schooled her children for 16 years. Her experiences in raising and home-schooling her five children inspired her to write these books.
Trish has spoken to hundreds of parents at preschools, daycares, church groups, libraries and women's retreats. Although her own children are mostly grown, she continues to teach a preschool class at her church and runs a successful family business in her community.
